“This is a much needed and a great initiative and who else but Palladium to spearhead it. Truly happy to be part of the grand jury and we hope Spotlight grows into an award that bloggers always aspire to achieve.” – Ritu Kumar, Fashion Designer
The very mention of Palladium is bound to instantaneously conjure up images of a quintessential fashion hub with people sauntering and sashaying around in their snazzy, opulent clothes amidst equally elegant and ostentatious shops catering to fashion and lifestyle. It comes as no surprise then that the Palladium Spotlight Fashion Blogger Awards was conceptualized by them, the first platform of it’s kind to ever be conferred upon the bloggers and vloggers in India.
Nidhi Kunder, an avid blogger, who also won the People’s Choice Award for the best fashion blogger of the year, happily reminisces how the event provided a platform where bloggers could finally be recognized and how it helps to create an understanding and respect for the work bloggers do. She asserts how it helps ensure that bloggers are no longer taken lightly. She added how it has also piqued her to work harder for the next year.
The Palladium Spotlight Fashion Blogger Awards, held on the 25th of February, 2017, was born with an objective of honoring and celebrating Indian fashion bloggers. Palladium Spotlight sought to bestow a platform upon both upcoming and established bloggers, vloggers, writers, photographers and others to bolster and embolden them. The event also witnessed bigwigs in the fashion industry like Ritu Kumar serving as a jury member and consulting on the nomination process. With the unprecedented, yet burgeoning demand and brouhaha surrounding bloggers and vloggers in the fashion and marketing world and with every other social media user religiously and ardently following and keeping tabs on these influencers, this event made its grand advent at the best time possible. When fashion meets passion, it is bound to create quite a tumult.
The Fatsmeagol Collective is proud and honored to have been the outreach partner of this one-of-a-kind event. We played a pivotal role in enabling the organizers to reach out to bloggers, apart from helping them recognize the new bloggers who might have been overlooked. Divya Khadye, a relatively new blogger, was effervescent when asked about the award show. “For a blogger like me who is just ten months old, the Palladium Spotlight Awards was a great platform and stepping stone to get discovered and acquire the kind of exposure it provided. The evening was great. I mean, I even won a voucher worth a lac!”, she added with an incredulous laugh. The core advisory committee was also formed along with our help.
We have been working with over a hundred bloggers over the past two years and concomitantly, we have had first-hand experience and exposure to the kind of work and talent that blogging necessitates. If two years of working with bloggers has taught us anything, it is that there isn’t a single successful blogger who has not worked really hard in getting where they are now. We see in Palladium Spotlight the potential to provide our partners with the recognition, respect and appreciation that has become long overdue, especially considering the digital renaissance that we find ourselves entrenched in. Not only did this event create a benchmark in the industry but it also set the ball rolling for the creation and encouragement of great talent and strengthening of the blogging industry further.
The event, hosted by Ira Dubey, was incandescent with glamour, glitz and oomph inundating as trophies were meted out to different categories of fashion and lifestyle bloggers, which included best content, hair styling, fashion blog, Instagram feed, urban style, writing and YouTuber, among many other categories. We are honored to be working with many bloggers associated who found their names in the nominations for these multitudinous categories. Listed below are the bloggers and the categories they won:
The bloggers who attended the Fashion Blogger Awards were smitten by the event and touched by the thought and effort that went behind it. Anu Priya, one of the bloggers we are associated with, said, “The Palladium Spotlight Fashion Blogger Awards has brought in a revolution in the field. I personally feel that this initiative will bring in a lot of change among the bloggers and the designers/ brands too because who doesn’t like being appreciated! When things like this happen, where you recognize someone’s efforts and hard work, you initiate a vicious cycle of motivation and success. Palladium has given this huge platform to all the bloggers from India and I truly respect all the efforts they have taken in making it such a huge success.”
Jas Sagu, another talented blogger we are associated with, also reiterated similar thoughts. She said, “The Palladium Spotlight Awards was a really thoughtful approach because I feel bloggers and influencers in India need that kind of a platform and the reputation and recognition that comes along with it. The awards helped the bloggers in India get the kind of cushioning that was long needed. Post the awards, people have started realizing the importance of influencers. I am really grateful that this happened and I really appreciate the kind of hard work that they put into it. Hats off to their efforts.” She also added that she is definitely looking forward to next year’s awards and that she would love to help in some capacity for a new talents to be recognized. Needless to say, The Fatsmeagol Collective is also looking forward to proving and bolstering our involvement even further.
